The Night Begins
Ndutu and the Light of Friendship
A long time ago, in a faraway place where the sky stretched big and wide like a giant blue ocean, there was a special secret about why bats only come out when it's dark. This wonderful secret comes from the land of Africa, a place older than the oldest tree, filled with the most exciting tales you could ever hear.
In this amazing land, where trees are so tall they seem to tickle the clouds, there lived a tiny bat named Ndutu. Ndutu's story has been told so many times that people sometimes change the names just to keep it a fun surprise for everyone.

One night, while exploring alone, Ndutu met Mawee, the moon fairy. Mawee's gentle glow comforted Ndutu, and they quickly became friends. She told him stories about the sky and the stars. Ndutu listened in awe, forgetting about his small wings and enjoying the company of his new friend.

But then, a challenge arose. Mawee had to leave, for the moon must travel across the sky, and she couldn't stay in one place. Ndutu was sad; he didn’t want to say goodbye. 'How will I find you again?' he asked. Mawee smiled, 'Look for my light in the sky, and remember, you're never alone as long as you remember our friendship.'

Feeling brave, Ndutu decided to venture further into the night than ever before. That's when he met Nyam, the sun fairy. Nyam saw Ndutu's sadness and decided to give him a special gift. 'With this,' she said, handing him a tiny speck of sunlight, 'you can carry a piece of light with you, even in the darkest nights.' Ndutu learned that with a little light of friendship, the night wasn't scary at all.
